The Venezuelan Red Cross (CRV) is a humanitarian organization whose mandate is to save lives and improve the conditions of people in vulnerability. As part of the Red Cross International Movement and the Red Crescent, it provides timely assistance in emergencies, disasters and contexts of humanitarian necessity.

Guided by its fundamental principles – humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, volunteering, unity and universality – CRV acts as an assistant to public powers in the humanitarian sphere, working to reduce human suffering without distinction of race, gender, religion or ideology. His work covers emergency medical care, the strengthening of community resilience, first aid training, disasters response and health and well -being promotion.

Through a network of highly compromised volunteers, the CRV mobilizes resources efficiently and efficiently to be present where it is needed most, when it is most needed. His work is based on solidarity, respect for human dignity and the commitment to the protection of life in all its forms.

How can you make a difference? Key functions / responsibilities

The Assistant of Programs will support the effective execution of the programs and projects of the Venezuelan Red Cross, framed in the areas of: health and well -being, risk management and disasters, protection, environment and climate change, ensuring the implementation of planned activities, monitoring of their development and the correct administration of resources.

It will be the manager (a) of:

  • Support in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the organization’s programs.
  • Coordinate with internal and external equipment the execution of programmatic activities.
  • Provide assistance in the administrative and financial management of the programs, including the preparation of reports and monitoring documents.
  • Maintain regular communication with subsidiaries to ensure compliance with programmatic objectives.
  • Support data collection and analysis for decision making.
  • Guarantee the correct documentation of activities and compliance with quality standards.
  • Coordinate training and strengthening activities aimed at volunteers and beneficiary communities.
  • Facilitate communication with partners, donors and other allied organizations to ensure the articulation of efforts.
  • Execute other tasks assigned by their immediate superiors to guarantee compliance with organizational objectives.

Report:

The programs assistant will report to the program management.

Workplace:

Caracas.

To qualify as a builder of the Venezuelan humanitarian system you must meet the following requirements:

  • University Degree in Social Sciences, Administration, or other related areas.
  • Minimum experience of two (2) years in implementation of programs and projects in the humanitarian or social sphere.
  • Knowledge in monitoring and evaluation methodologies of programs.
  • Experience in administrative and financial management of projects.
  • Strong communication skills and teamwork.
  • Ability to write reports and monitoring technical documents.
  • Spanish fluidity and basic knowledge of English are desirable.
  • Commitment to the fundamental principles of the Red Cross and the Red Crescent.
  • Great sense of responsibility and professional ethics.
