Caritas International coordinates with its partners Caritas and other organizations of emergency, development and social cohesion actions in DR Congo. Currently, our representation office in Kinshasa and our liaison office in Bukavu coordinate projects located in the Kongo Central, Kinshasa, Kwilu, Kwango and the North and South Kivu.

To supervise the Kinshasa -based team (around 17 people), we are looking for a representative.

You are made for this job because …

  • Institutional representation: You represent Caritas International in coordination forums and round tables (a clusters, head of mission meetings, ONGI forum, HCT, ISO), and interviews a privileged relationship with partners (the Caritas network, local and international actors, authorities) and donors. You are actively looking for funding for projects / programs in DR Congo.
  • Coordination of the CARITAS International strategy: You develop and follow the country strategy in accordance with the general strategy of Caritas International, the partnership and location policy. You are responsible for the annual action plan (Pluri) and you support the team in the reorientation and adaptation of projects / programs in order to respond to contextual changes.
  • Team management: You coordinate and supervise the Kinshasa office team: recruitment, function description, operating interviews, assessments, change support…. You promise a culture of transparency, equity, inclusion and integrity. You respect internal HR policies, applicable social legislation and HR management tools.
  • Partner management: You pay particular attention to the partnership relationship where continuous support and mutual capacity building is at the heart.
  • Program management: You support the implementation and monitoring of planning tools, evaluation of the progress of projects/programs. You also ensure a political, security and socio-economic contextual watch to make analyzes in terms of team safety, program operationalization, advocacy and communication.
  • Security management: You manage daily safety, set up safety procedures, make respect for the safety rules and instructions in force.
  • Financial management: You coordinate the design and budget monitoring of the representation, supervision the cash flow, cash requests and compliance with accounting procedures.
  • Relations with siege: You maintain regular communication with the Desk RD Congo, the Finance RD Congo cell and the other teams (eg communication and plea).

What you bring to the team

  • You have followed university training or higher education or you have equivalent experience.
  • You have experience in management and management of multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
  • You master project management methodologies: PCM, Gar, Outcome Mapping, Change Theory, etc.
  • You have a good knowledge of the following approaches and concepts: Protection, Nexus, Conflict Sensitivity, Genre, and/or LNOB.
  • You know the main donors well (DGD, UE, EU) and you have solid skills in negotiation of technical partnerships and financing.
  • You know how to follow budgets and the cash flow.
  • You have excellent analytical and synthesis skills, you can anticipate and prioritize your tasks.
  • You have very good editorial skills
  • You master French and English.
  • You are able to work in an emergency and unforeseen context.
  • You are autonomous and oriented solutions.
