Organizational context
The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) is the humanitarian organization that saves lives and changes lives, providing emergency food assistance and working with communities to improve nutrition and create resilience.

At this level, the headlines of these positions are carried out to carry out a series of acquisition processes and activities that require a certain level of interpretation of standard guidelines and practices. In addition, they can recommend direct lines of action to personnel, and assign tasks and provide technical support to other officials.
Purpose of the position
Execute and apply appropriate guidelines, processes and procedures to sustain the efficient and effective provision of purchase services.
Main responsibilities (indicative and non -exhaustive list)
1. Perform administrative purchasing activities in a timely and efficient way, to help professional category personnel in the acquisition of goods and services to execute efficient operations on the ground.
2. Collect data and prepare and distribute documents, to support programs and operational activities on purchases that reach good results (eg, convene tenders, evaluate offers and negotiate/award contracts), guaranteeing that standard processes are applied.
3. Review, register and order for priority the purchase requests, ensuring that all the justification documentation and there are funds available, to make possible the acquisition of goods and services.
4. Coordinate and supervise the issuance of purchase requests, verifying the reception and inspection of the products, and putting monitoring measures to ensure that the supplies reach the headquarters and the operations on the ground.
5. Search, collect and present information in standard formats, in order to make informed decisions and guarantee the coherence of the information presented to the interested parties.
6. Update, manage and maintain relevant databases and records, to ensure that the information is accurate, is organized, accessible and respond to the obligations for submitting reports.
7. Maintain contact with their internal counterparts to sustain the harmonization of acquisition activities with broader programs and guarantee a coherent approach in the attention of food assistance needs.
8. Provide technical support and/or assign work to other support officials, in order to help them carry out standard tasks in accordance with the agreed standards and deadlines.
9. Apply the standard emergency preparation practices to help PMA to intervene quickly and send the necessary foods and resources to the areas affected at the beginning of a crisis.
Other position requirements
. Familiarity with acquisition processes or supplier management.
. Management of purchasing management systems or ERP (SAP).
. Attention to detail and organizational skills.
. Ability to work as a team and under pressure.
Minimum standard experience and qualifications required
Formation
Completion of the Secondary Education cycle. The presentation of a post -secondary education certificate in the corresponding functional sphere will be assessed.
Experience
Five years at a minimum of professional experience with increasing responsibilities in the corresponding operational sphere.
Knowledge
Competition in the use of office equipment and packages and competences: computer scientists, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and other tools.
Languages
FLUID SPANISH LEVEL. Intermediate English level (desirable).
Desirable experience to play this function
- Experience in acquisition activities.
- Experience in carrying out reports.
- Daily work experience with suppliers or other third parties.

Contract duration: 12 months with the possibility of extension.
The position is open to Citizens and Ecuadorian citizens already legal residents with work permit in Ecuador.
