Functions and responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of conflict mapping;
  • Facilitate discussion groups in order to identify the needs, wishes and fears of target beneficiary groups, some of which are currently living beyond the country’s borders.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative data collection consultations on social cohesion and conflict analysis;
  • Contribute to the construction of networks of key actors across the country and beyond, ensuring participation in the peace process of those who, otherwise, could boycott it or try to hinder it.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and members of consulting groups on the RCA side, and Chad for efficient cross -border work;
  • Contribute to the evolution of conflict analysis in intervention areas,
  • Write reports of activities and other notes on training, meetings and any other activity carried out as part of the program and submit them to the review of the base chief;
  • Facilitate community dialogues, mediation, training, coaching and support for members of consulting groups;
  • Facilitate training on the mechanisms of peaceful conflict resolutions;
  • Assist in the design of future projects;
  • Contribute to the organization of cross -border meetings;
  • Understand and comply with security policy, guidelines and local and international practices.
  • Bring back to right any information on the security context or any contextual or other event, having a possible consequence of the activities of International Concordis and the safety of the teams.
  • Translate during individual interviews, focus groups, workshops or other activities between different local and French languages.
  • Apport for other tasks assigned to him by his supervisor as part of the program.

Qualifications and skills required:

Indispensable:

  • Minimum license diploma in project management, international relations; Development, conflict resolution, or in a related field;
  • Practical and pushed knowledge of the Mayo-Rey, Faro, Bénoue, Mbéré, Djérem, Vina, Faro-et-Déo regions and more generally the Tri-Frontalière Cameroon/Chad/RCA zone; demonstrating an ability to create an in-depth network and knowledge of the ethnic realities of these northeast Cameroon
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the humanitarian field and / or in local development and / or conflict resolution and peacebuilding in particular within the country;
  • Personal efficiency, organizational capacity and flexibility in difficult circumstances;
  • Ability to engage, communicate and negotiate with the authorities and communities under difficult conditions in a way open, transparent and constructive;
  • Willingness to work in a multicultural team in a demanding environment;
  • Perfect mastery of French, and preferably of the little/fulfulde, the Mboum, or other dialects with a strong prevalence in this tri-frontricular region,
  • Be sensitive to cultural diversity and have the capacity to respond with tact and diplomacy to cultural questions and those which relate to political realities;
  • Master of Microsoft Office software;
  • Commitment to the mission, principles and values of Concordis; specially adhering to neutrality and impartiality in peace of peacebuilding.

Desired:

  • Having worked with an international NGO or institution
  • Be available and flexible,
  • The mastery of the Fulfulde language, Mboum and other local dialects constitutes an asset
  • Experience and knowledge on the subject of transhumance
  • Mastering data collection tools on mobile phone or tablet
  • Positive attitude towards tasks and challenges of the context.
