BBC Media Action, a charity for international development of the British Broadcasting Authority, announces a set of job opportunities for independent staff (freelancers) for the benefit of the “All” platform in Libya.
We use media and communication in efforts to reduce poverty, seek to achieve development goals, and support people to understand their rights. This is achieved through partnership with the media, civil society and others to produce creative programs and other outputs to inform the masses and involve them in the main development issues. Moreover, we strengthen the media sector by building professional capabilities and infrastructure of local media institutions in the countries where we work.
Our workplace in North Africa is our office in Tunisia. Where we manage a group of media projects in Tunisia, Libya and Algeria, while ensuring their delivery on time, according to the highest possible criteria, and according to the BBC editorial values and BBC Midia Action Action.
We are currently looking for talented independent employees to do the following jobs:
- Researcher and author of digital text content
- Digital optical content product
We realize that many professionals have talents and skills covering multiple roles. Therefore, we encourage applicants to include multiple jobs in their request to have the right skills. For example, the video journalist may also have the ability to work as a researcher and author of a text content, content product or video editor so that he can get more than a decade.

Researcher and author of independent digital text content
The scope of work and its arrangements
The job operator is expected to conduct research and collect information and verify it in a way that supports the production of content related to the public interest. It is also expected to formulate and scrutinize text content before publishing it, to be high -quality and attractive to the fans of the “All” platform. As well as presenting and suggesting ideas to produce new patterns of digital content.
The independent employee will be assigned a weekly basis to a set of topics. The work arrangements and wages will also be negotiated during the selection and contracting process.
Basic tasks:
- Conducting research and collecting information and verifying it in a way that supports the production of content related to the public interest and the documentation of the “All” audience.
- Suggest ideas to produce new content, including graphs and videos.
- Production and audit is an attractive authentic text content for the “All” audience
- Ensure that all contents are linguistically correct and are compatible with the “whole” style and its written line.
- Support the production and development of graphs and video content depending on research and information collection.
- Cooperation with content producers, graphic designers and video production team to ensure the effectiveness of communication and content production
Basic outputs
- A reliable, high -quality and attractive text content that includes short publications, blogs and illustrations on social media.
- Texts and data that can be converted into graphs or videos.
Required: Skills, knowledge and experience:

- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in the press, English, communications, or any related specialty. – At least three years experience in the field of journalism and content writing in Libya. – Experience in meeting the needs of the Libyan digital public and/or familiarity with the Libyan context. – Excellent research skills to collect accurate and related information on various topics, and the ability to effectively integrate information into writing. – The ability to adapt the writing style and its character to suit various digital platforms and the Libyan public on the Internet. – The ability to take editorial values into consideration when writing digital text content. – Knowledge of various digital platforms, including social media, websites and newsletters via e -mail – Provide evidence of previous works that displays a wide range of writing capabilities. – Experience in teamwork remotely or personally.
Preferences: skills, knowledge and experience:

- Master’s degree in journalism, English, communications, or any relevant specialization – understanding the editorial values of the BBC or the ability to learn and apply. Knowing and understanding the editorial identity of the platform of all or the ability to modify texts to suit their editorial identity. – Knowing the principles of search engines and experience in combining keywords naturally into the content to improve the level of appearance on the search engine. – Mastering the English language

Independent digital visual content (video photographer / photographer)
The scope of work and its arrangements
It is expected from the job occupant to be responsible for taking high -quality photos and videos for use in the production of a digital visual content for publication on the “All” platform and its associated promotional materials. This role requires a profound understanding of the “All” platform and requires creative expression of major visual development issues.
The independent employee will be assigned a week of photos/ videos. The work arrangements and wages will also be negotiated during the selection and contracting process.
Basic tasks:
- Take photographs and high -quality video clips in line with the professional and editorial requirements of the “All” platform and with aesthetic standards.
- Ensure that the photos and videos presented are well organized, attractive and suitable for editorial standards and prior assignment from the editorial administration.
- Close cooperation with the editorial team and participation in planning sessions to understand the various professional work requirements.
- Covering all aspects of video and pictures production, including preparation and mobile photography.
- Mobility inside Libya according to the needs of the subject assigned to it.
Basic outputs
- Provide high -quality and ready -made videos and videos for use according to a previously specific plan and schedule.
- Optical content is compatible with the editorial values of the British Broadcasting Authority and the technical standards of the “All” platform.
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in the press, photography, communications or any related specialty. – At least three years experience as a video/ photographer, it is desirable in a media, non -profit or development context. – Experience in meeting the needs of the Libyan digital public and/or familiarity with the Libyan context. – Mastering mobile phone photography and using professional imaging equipment converging with the mobile phone. – Knowledge of various digital platforms, including social media and web sites and understanding how to consume content on these platforms. – Providing a guide on previous works that includes a set of photos and videos – showing the ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adhere to the final dates. Strong communication and cooperation skills. Preparing to travel inside Libya in frequent coordination.

Knowing and understanding the editorial identity of the “All” platform – at least three years experience in the field of journalism in Libya. – Mastering the English language. – Mastering the use of image editing programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro or the like.
