For 30 years, ACTED has been working at the first kilometer of humanitarian action to save lives. ACTED supports more than 27 million people in 43 countries, meeting their needs in difficult to access areas, while pursuing a triple term as a humanitarian, environmental and development actor. ACTED is based on an in -depth understanding of local contexts to develop and implement long -term actions, in collaboration with a wide range of local and international partners, in order to collectively build a 3zero world: zero exclusion, zero carbon and zero poverty.

Acted Haïti

Present in Haiti since 2004, ACTED responds to emergencies and supports the raising of populations in need, especially in the fields of water, hygiene and sanitation, food safety and reconstruction. In collaboration with civil society and institutions, ACTED develops and also implements programs focused on socio-economic development and adaptation to climate change. ACTED is currently working in 5 departments in Haiti, namely La Grand’Ase, the South, the Southeast, the West, and the Center, and soon in the Nippes.

Concerning the major achievements of ACTED in 2020-2021:

• 5,562 people received monetary assistance in order to provide for their priority needs
• 12 rehabilitated and supported health centers in order to respond to COVVI-19 pandemic
• 35 water networks and rehabilitated infrastructure to improve access to water, hygiene and sanitation
• 1,125 people relocated thanks to the reconstruction of their house
• 394,532 people aware of prevention measures against COVVI-19

Following the earthquake of August 14, 2021 which devastated the departments of the South, the Grande Anse and the Nippes in Haiti, Acted recruits. ACTED was one of the first humanitarian organization to carry out rapid assessments to determine the extent of damage and needs, and is already strongly mobilized to provide emergency aid to the victims of the earthquake, in close collaboration with the Haitian authorities. The activities carried out currently concern the delivery of drinking water, the distribution of hygiene kits and the conduct of sanitation and rehabilitation of water networks, but also the distribution of food, the payment of emergency financial aid, the distribution of basic necessities and, soon, the implementation of housing solutions for the most vulnerable people, in 12 municipalities in the 3 departments.

Role and main responsibilities

In close collaboration with consortium partners, the Coordinator of Consortium guarantees that the implementation of the consortium project is in accordance with the proposals approved and in accordance with the lessor’s rules and regulations. The consortium coordinator facilitates close and effective coordination between consortium partners, guarantees high quality documentation of project activities and ensures that the results of the project are achieved.

Qualifications and skills required

At least 5 years of experience in the implementation of projects in the field, preferably in an international context
Have a strong team spirit
Knowledge of the aid system and ability to understand the requirements of donors and governments
Excellent communication and writing skills

Ability to coordinate and manage the staff and project activities
Proven capacity to work in a creative and independent way, both in the field and at the office.
Ability to organize and plan effectively
Ability to work with groups of people from different cultures
Ability to travel and work under difficult and pressure conditions.
Knowledge of local language and/or regional experience is an asset.

Conditions

  • Salary defined by the Gate of Salaries ACTED according to the level of study, expertise, level of security and level of experience: between 2,600 and 2800 € net monthly (before income tax)
  • Monthly lifestyle compensation $ 300
  • Housing in guesthouse and food supported by ACTED
  • Social Security, Mutual (MSH) and repatriation assistance (SOS International) supported by ACTED
  • Transport to the mission and return ticket fully supported every 6 months (to the address specified on the employment contract)
