Locally positioning the action of action against hunger in health and nutrition, through the coordination and implementation of health and nutrition activities inherent in charge, with quality and relevance and through the leadership of the technical team in the field.
The main activities you will perform are the following:
Objective 1: Guarantee medical care and interventions of the different health services (nutrition, psychosocial, SSR), community health and health education, in accordance with the conditions detected in medical care and context evaluation; taking into account the national regulations and guidelines and action guidelines against hunger.
In identification:
- Participate in the diagnosis and identification of projects, from a logic of community participation, sensitive multisectoral and specific to health and nutrition, taking into account relevance and viability (technical, cultural, socio -economic, gender and risk).
- Support the definition of epidemiological profiles of the zones.
- Contribute to the targeting of beneficiaries, based on the characterization of communities, specific needs.
- Identify possible lines of health action for research and innovation.
In the implementation and monitoring of the projects in charge:
- Study, monitor and regularly inform about the situation and needs in health and nutrition and its determinants in the project participating in the project and the geographical areas of influence, based on internal and external sources (information analysis of the care databases, institutional and hospitable epidemiological reports, health situation reports of local actors and NGOs.)
- Together with the health and nutrition professional, lead the implementation of the nutritional security policy in the base/project and ensure the real inclusion of this approach in the other areas of intervention (eg, Wash, Samv, Migration).
- Implement and monitor the health component of the project, to guarantee compliance in all phases of the project cycle (from identification to its evaluation).
- Develop, in conjunction with the Health and Nutrition Team of the Base and the Project Headquarters, the mapping of the offer of available health and nutrition services, to guarantee the reference of health cases with special needs.
- Incorporate transverse approaches in the implementation of activities: gender (equity and real participation, inclusion of interests and needs, equitably men and women), the differential, ethnic and action approach without damage to the actions provided in its charge.
- Provide immediate care and/or reference in cases that require it (eg, shock, hypoglycemia, hypothermia, others), based on clinical management guides defined by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.
- Perform the prescription of medicines in accordance with the medical criteria, in line with the clinical management guides and the national standards of the Ministry of Health of Colombia and ensure that the beneficiaries have the clear information of their treatment.
- Orient or refer (as the case may be) patients who require a detailed/hospitalization clinical analysis, according to the medical criteria and clinical management guides associated with the group or condition (eg cases of severe acute malnutrition with complications, pregnant women who require parachlinic exams or are at risk, cases of VBG, sexual violence, cases with protection needs or others.).
- Coordinate with local health institutions and other organizations, the complementation of health services (eg, vaccination, sexual and reproductive health, intrahospital nutritional and pediatric treatment, among others).
- Provide medical management and monitoring of children diagnosed with moderate and severe acute malnutrition, and cases of anemia in this population and in pregnant women and infants, according to the management clinical guides and the technical guidelines of the Ministry of Health of Colombia and the mission.
- Carry out together with the health and nutrition professional, days for strengthening capacities for prevention (ALNP-E) and the management of acute malnutrition, aimed at the health personnel of public institutions and other organizations.
- Perform and guide training activities in key practices of nutritional status and health care and nutrition at community and family level, together with the health and promoter team for health.
- Prepare and manage technical and operational instruments of the health and nutrition component of the projects (terms of reference, training plans, commitment minutes, agreements, delivery acts, etc.).
- Guarantee the technical rigor of the activities to be developed within the framework of the project, in articulation with the land team and the national technical coordination (Wash, NUT and Health, Samv, Gender and Protection)
In the report:
- Systematically prepare and monitor the achievement of results and objectives using indicators established in the logical framework of projects that include health and nutrition activities.
- Maintain effective and effective communication with the equipment to inform about the progress of the project.
- Lead the preparation and delivery of project reports, and the baseline updated in digital format (Excel).
- Make specific reports of your speech and findings, which account for the local health situation; for the Project Headquarters and Technical Coordination of Health and Nutrition.
In data and knowledge management:
- Manage the medical records of beneficiaries in the digital clinical archive of the mission and guarantee its good management in accordance with the national regulations and the Manual for the Management of Information in Health and Nutrition of the Mission.
- Anonymity the health consultation database, for the Technical Archive and deliver to the Project Headquarters.
- Promote and propose the development of research, systematization and alliance initiatives with the Academy, based on the findings and needs found during the implementation of the project.
In the evaluation:
- Systematize the information collected in the technical component in your charge (Lessons learned, accountability, life stories of beneficiaries of the area) and socialize it with the base team and key actors at the local level.
- Prepare terms of reference (TDR/TOR), coordinate and monitor (internal or external) evaluations of the projects in which it participates.
- Support and ensure the participation of the beneficiaries of the project in accountability.
- Facilitate and inform the feedback of the beneficiaries on the activities carried out.
Objective 2: Strengthen the technical health relationship with other organizations and institutions
- In coordination with the Project Headquarters, Regional Coordination and the Technical Coordination of Health and Nutrition, identify and maintain spaces that facilitate the exchange of technical information in health and experiences of action against hunger with other organizations.
- Relate to their peers and manage alliances in the area of health and nutrition of public and private organizations at the municipal and departmental level (eg Secretariats of Health, Hospitals, ICBF, Health positions, universities), in coordination with the Project Headquarters, the Regional Coordination.
- Coordinate with other local organizations the implementation of joint actions with a view to achieving a greater impact, in coordination with the Project Headquarters, regional coordination.
- Promote the visibility of action against hunger in spaces for technical and strategic coordination with other organizations at the local level, in coordination with the team, with the Project Headquarters, regional coordination.
Objective 3: Support support activities (HR, administration, logistics and security management)
- Participate in the recruitment, selection, induction and monitoring processes of health and nutrition staff.
- Participate in the performance evaluation of health and nutrition staff.
- Propose training and contents issues for the health and nutrition team of the base/project.
- Participate in the preparation of expenses for expenses for terrain.
- Follow the financial and logistics standards of the mission for the purchase of materials/equipment and contracting services.
- Transmit in a timely way all the necessary and complete information for the administrative and logistics management of the nutrition component.
- Prepare the requests for the request for detailed materials and supplies and processes of the activities of the health and nutrition component.
- Respect, comply and strictly apply the safety standards established in the local security plan and apply risk reducing measures.
- Immediately inform your direct responsible about any situation or security incidents (latent or effective).
- Guarantee the good use of medicines, equipment and health supplies; together with the base logistics team.
- Support in the update, review and report of inventory of inputs, equipment and elements for the realization of health and nutrition activities.
- It supports the project headquarters in the preparation of donor visits, or the action team against hunger in capital and headquarters.
- Regularly informs project progress, difficulties, lessons learned to the Project Headquarters and Regional Coordination.

1. Professional medical degree.
2. Minimum previous experience of 2 years in: extramural and emergency care, promotion and prevention consultations (prenatal, nutritional, growth and development, family planning). Work with high vulnerability groups such as children, women in situations of armed violence, migratory flows or disasters of natural origin. Leadership and human resources management. Maternal-infant health and extramural care. Experience with rural communities, desirable that they are from the specific context where the position and desirable work with indigenous communities is based. With Humanitarian NGOs or international cooperation organizations. The experience in nutritional and/or pediatric hospital care will be a plus.
3. Specific technical-professional knowledge: Professional in Medicine with Record in Rehus. Basic life support certificate, family planning and comprehensive care for victims of updated sexual violence. Knowledge in maternal – infant, Aiepi and health promotion (certification will be assessed in these areas). Knowledge about: the guideline for integrated management of malnutrition and anthropometric assessment. In basic promotion and prevention programs: prenatal control, family planning and growth and development. In breastfeeding counseling (certification in this area will be a plus) and infant feeding and healthy childhood in emergencies. Desirable maternal-infant formation, in epidemiology and/or public health.
4. Languages: desirable intermediate level of spoken and written English.
5. Office and specific systems: Suite Office management. Data systematization tools. Desirable Nutritional Software Management (ANTHRO, ANTHRO PLUS, ENA) and/or SPSS Health Information Analysis programs, EPI INFO, STATA, OTHERS.
6. Desirable: General knowledge of the organization and its axes of action.
7. Availability for geographical mobility (trips to work areas, punctual support to them).
8. Gender equality commitments and zero tolerances to abuse. Valuable previous experience in issues related to the promotion of gender equality or personal commitment to gender equality.
