WHO ARE WE ?
Doctors of the World is an international NGO for medical development being part of an international network. We provide medical assistance to vulnerable groups, in Belgium and the rest of the world.
We want universal health coverage where each person has access to care, without obstacles (financial, cultural, geographic, etc.).
In Belgium and in the world, our projects are intended for all people who have no or no more access to health care. In particular, they are structured in five axes: people on the sidelines of society (homeless people, paperless, drug users, sex workers, etc.); Children in a vulnerability; women (accompanied in their fight for equality or against sexual violence for example); Migrant or displaced people and victims of crises or conflicts.
To carry out our mission, we are based on three pillars:

Essential
Within the Directorate of General Services and the Finance Service, you ensure all aspects of accounting management in order to contribute to the realization of good financial management within the organization.
The function ensures the supervision of a team of 5 staff and is under the hierarchical responsibility of the post of finance manager.
Tasks and Responsibility
Inasmuch as Chief. : Guarantor of good accounting management of the organization according to Belgian law.
Orient, advise employees of the accounting team to the use of tools, procedures and the execution of policies as defined within the Finance department and in annual action plans.
Examples of tasks:
- Accounting supervision : Direct and supervise the accounting team, ensuring the distribution of tasks and monitoring individual performance. Coordinate accounting activities, including general accounting, supplier accounts, customer accounts. Encode OD subsidies under the supervision of finance manager. Supervise the invoice encoding process and payment (IE ISABEL); etc. Identify and solve the operational and technical problems encountered by the various members of the team.
- Accounting fence : Coordinate the annual account closing process in connection with the reviewer, under the supervision of the Finance Manager. Ensure that all transactions are properly recorded, evaluated and justified; etc
- Establishment of financial statements: Participate in the development of financial statements with internal and external bodies (MDM network, annual activity report, annual tax declaration, BNB, Statbel, etc.). Provide financial analyzes to help management in decision -making; etc
- Compliance and taxation : ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards. Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits. Contribute to the answer to auditors’ questions and monitor recommendations in connection with the General Services Department. Manage tax issues and coordinate with tax advisers. Ensure monitoring of the accuracy of accounting principles and archiving principles in accordance with Belgian law, etc.
- Cash management : ensure cash management, with cash flow projections (monitoring of available funds, planned entries and outputs, minimization of exchange risks, bank reconciliation, etc.); In connection with banks. Optimize liquidity management to guarantee the availability of the necessary funds; etc
- Automation and process improvement : Identify the automation opportunities for accounting processes. Propose and implement improvements to increase operational efficiency (with in particular the creation of dashboards). Implement the installation of new accounting software. Develop and update guides and manuals (eg accounting management guide …); etc
- Transversal collaboration with other departments : make the reconciliation of donations with marketing, under the supervision of finance manager and pilot the encoding of donations; etc
- Relay to management: play the role of alert in the event of financial risks to the Finance Manager, follow provisions linked to these financial risks; etc
Inasmuch as Team manager : Coordinate the work of the various employees of the team by strengthening cohesion and motivation in order to guarantee an optimal working environment according to the means and priorities of the department.
Examples of tasks:
- Training and Development : Supervise and train the accounting team to develop individual and collective skills. Evaluate, set the objectives to be achieved for employees, develop individual action plans, distribute activities and ensure their coordination. Support, support, stimulate each employee in their progression and increase their understanding of their strengths and weaknesses, deliver monthly feedback to each collaborator/trice, and solicit for oneself. Ensure, by coaching or the use of training, optimization of the skills level of employees
- Team organization : Plan and recruit the employees of his team. Participate in the restructuring reflections of the organization chart of your team if necessary. Organize back-ups within your team
- Daily team management: Plan, organize, animate team meetings, ensure the communication of decisions and writing PVs. Ensure that the team remains informed of accounting and regulatory developments; etc. Supervise trainees in carrying out certain tasks.

Your profile
FORMATION ET EXPERIENCE
- Graduat or Master in Accounting, Management Sciences or equivalent experience.
- Min 3 years of experience in a similar function Including 1 year min in team management.
Competitions and knowledge
- Mastery of accounting principles according to Belgian law.
- Perfect mastery of the Office Pack (EXCEL MASTER EXCELL).
- Master and configure Winbooks and Saga accounting software.
- Master of Isabel.
- Master internal financial reports (assessment, results account, etc.).
- Perfect mastery of French.
- Analytical spirit and great rigor in the processing of information.
- Affinity with the non-marchand sector.

We offer

- An indefinite, full -time contract (100% – 5 days weeks – 39h)
- A gross salary of € 4,083.60 for 5 years of experience; A gross salary of € 4,278.06 for 10 years of experience; Recognized relevant experience.
- Restaurant tickets (€ 8, including € 1.09 per employee and € 6.91 per employer) – hospitalization insurance – reimbursement at 100 % of public transport costs.
- Leave: 20 legal days + 6 RTT days + 4 extra legal days between Christmas and New Year.
- Telework possibility Up to 2 days/SEM, with a bonus of € 14/day for the whole month.
