Marketing and Communications Manager
Job Summary (Purpose and Scope)
Manage the organization’s marketing, communications, and media functions to enhance the institutional reputation, increase awareness of programs, and attract funding and partnerships.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee marketing, communications, and media activities in line with the organization’s vision, mission, and strategic plans.
- Identify target audiences and design tailored messages for each segment.
- Ensure consistency of the corporate identity across all materials and channels.
- Develop the organization’s key messages and public communication narrative.
- Manage the organization’s website and update content to reflect programs and achievements.
- Supervise social media platforms (planning, publishing, engagement, campaigns).
- Implement digital marketing campaigns.
- Use analytics tools to measure impact and improve performance.
- Support program and grants teams by preparing presentations, profiles, and project marketing materials.
- Develop fundraising and donation campaigns in coordination with relevant departments.
- Contribute to building partnerships with the private sector and donors.
- Oversee the production of written and visual content (reports, success stories, videos, infographics).
- Manage external vendors (designers, photographers, media agencies) as needed.
- Analyze the impact of media and marketing campaigns on reputation, reach, and funding.
- Ensure compliance with accountability and safeguarding procedures and report any concerns.
- Respect and apply all safeguarding principles and policies related to prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse and report any incident or violation.
- Comply with all policies of Takaful Al-Sham Organization and adhere to administrative orders and disciplinary procedures in case of violations.
- Commit to the zero-tolerance policy adopted by Takaful Al-Sham Organization regarding sexual exploitation and abuse, with immediate reporting of any related incidents.
- Adhere to the Code of Conduct and organizational policies related to child protection, prevention of sexual exploitation, promotion of community justice, and respect for human rights.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the direct supervisor within the scope of work.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- University degree in Marketing, Media, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing/media, including proven experience within humanitarian or development organizations.
- Experience in managing media campaigns.
- Strong communication skills.
- In-depth understanding of humanitarian and development sector media.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools and data analysis.
