Who we are?
IDA is an international independent non-governmental organization providing medical and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflicts, natural disasters and epidemics regardless of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.
IDA was founded in 2012 by Syrian doctors from Aleppo in response to the healthcare and humanitarian crisis in Syria.
IDA Syria is the main healthcare provider in the Northern Aleppo/Syria area, working closely with 500,000 IDPs and 700,000 host communities through 20 healthcare facilities and other health and nutrition projects
During last year, IDA has provided 1.2 million services in Heath, Nutrition, WaSH and Camp Management
Specific Responsibilities:
- • Application of guidelines in working with children, being guided by the best interest of the child in all procedures at all times, and familiarity with the child’s development and the well-being of children
Communicate and work effectively and appropriately with children of all ages and their families, including those who have gone through extremely difficult situations
• Assess risks, needs and strengths and develop an appropriate response in consultation with the child and / or the caregiver (s)
• Collaborate with clients to plan, implement, monitor and adjust individual services that enhance customer strengths, enhance customer well-being, and help clients achieve their goals. Plans should be based on meaningful assessments and should have specific, achievable and measurable goals
• Work with children, families and interested parties to implement the specified procedures through planning to bring about the necessary changes to ensure the safety, stability and development of the child. This includes directing, encouraging and supporting the child and family while monitoring impacts and outcomes
• Conduct safety planning with clients, and work collaboratively with the client’s family (if / when required) and other agencies to manage identified risks
• Point of contact, follow-up and needs assessment
• Providing, coordinating, and following up on service provision
• Leading or participating in case management conferences and family meetings with other professionals
• Documenting all case management activities in the appropriate client record in a timely manner, using and filling in the necessary reports
Defending the rights, decisions, strengths and needs of children and families and promoting their access to resources, support and services
• Promote cooperation between colleagues and organizations to enhance service delivery and facilitate the achievement of the client’s goal
• Providing and facilitating client access to competent and culturally sensitive services
• Evaluating client satisfaction and quality of care provided
• Ensure the participation of local authorities, community leaders and community groups in establishing community protection mechanisms
• Provide regular updates and reports to Senior Management staff as required. Contribute to donor reports and internal reports as required
• Perform other job-related duties as requested by the supervisor

• Strictly adhere to humanitarian and protection principles and standards, as well as organizational policies including the Code of Conduct, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and Child Protection
Qualifications:
Context/Specific skills, knowledge, and experience:
- • Technical diploma or academic degree in social work, counseling, or human rights, or any related degree, or at least four years of experience in this field is sufficient.
• Experience of at least one year in implementing child protection programs, preferred social work or case management, in humanitarian or development situations
• Adherence to rights-based and community-based curricula
• To demonstrate understanding in dealing with vulnerable women
• Personal qualities: a good listener, flexible, a network builder, able to handle stress well, and work in a multicultural environment
• Native Arabic speaker
